Many species of basils !
Lemon, cinnamon, Thai or genovese basil, there are
more than 150 species throughout the world, some with original
tastes. Farm3 grows a large variety in its cubes.

• Thin green basil
This species comes from India this species is very decorative with its dense leafs, it also has the reputation to be more fragrant than the green basil.
Dried it loses much of its aroma, it is preferable to use it fresh or frozen.
• Cinnamon basil
Native to Mexico, it is used in many desserts, including compotes or fruit salads. It is preferable to break the leaves, to extract more flavour aroma.
• Thai basil
Native to Southeast Asia, Thai basil has a very spicy flavor similar to tarragon or aniseed. It is mainly used with Asian soups and curries.
• Osmin basil
Coming from Italy, the osmin basil has toothed leaves. Its aniseed flavor differentiates it from more traditional basil. It is very used in cooking for its aroma, to be used in your salads, sauces or fish.
• Common basil
Typical of Italy, it is ideal for preparing pesto. Also called genovese basil, which is the name in Italian of protected designation of origin (D.O.P.).
It goes very well with garlic, to prepare sauces like pesto, also, it is perfect with tomatoes and mozzarella.
• Lemon basil
Cultivated mainly in North Africa and South Asia for its powerful lemon fragrance, it is popular in Arabic gastronomy. It perfumes perfectly salads or fish.
What can I do with basil ?
Basil is easy to cook, it is one of the most indoor herbs
aromatic used. It aromatizes our salads, our sauces, our
infusions, and also our desserts!
Some recipes !
• Lemon basil cookies
Total time: 25 min
Ingredients: - 225g of soft butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 400g of flour
- 200g of fresh lemon basil
- 100g powdered sugar
- Step 1
Start by preheating your oven to 392 °F.
Then beat the butter with the sugar in a bowl.
- Step 2
Cut your fresh basil leaves, then add the lemon juice.
Add the mixture to the butter and sugar bowl.
- Step 3
Incorporate the flour while mixing the preparation until
you get a soft ball of dough.
You should make a soft ball of dough. Caution: the
dough must not be crumbly. be crumbly.
- Step 4
Cover a baking sheet with baking paper.
Make a ball with the equivalent of a tablespoon of dough,
and space the cookies a few inches apart.
- Step 5
Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes.
(edges of cookies should be golden brown).

• Cream of Common basil
Total time: 25 min
Ingredients: - 1 Bouquet of basil
- 1 white onion
- 3 ccs of fresh cream
- 1 handful of pine nuts
- Salt and pepper
- Step 1
Start by frying the onion in a saucepan.
Add 50cl of water and bring to a boil.
- Step 2
Then add the basil leaves and leave to simmer for
3 minutes.
- Step 3
Put everything in a blender and blend until a smooth mixture.
- Step 4
Add the fresh cream and the pine nuts and mix again.
you only have to salt and pepper to your liking.
Have a nice meal !
